Good health under the royal patronage

The Mobile Dental Unit provides dental care to children in remote areas of Thailand.

Hello.

For over 17 years, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Foundation Thailand (RMHC Thailand), a non-profit organization, has been implementing three main projects: building or renovating Ronald McDonald Playrooms, providing Ronald McDonald Houses for families of sick children, and operating Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles. This year, the foundation collaborated with the Children's Welfare Foundation of the Thai Red Cross Society, the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, the Royal Thai Army, the Royal Thai Navy, the Royal Thai Air Force, dental assistants from the Mahidol University's Faculty of Dentistry, volunteer dentists from the Private Dentist Foundation (Thailand), and the Tan Chong Group to launch a mobile dental unit under the "Good Health under His Majesty's Auspices" project. The project provides free dental care to children in remote areas of Chai Nat province. The event was honored by the presence of M.R. Jiyagorn Abhakorn Sassevej, Executive Committee of the Children's Welfare Foundation of the Thai Red Cross Society, Mr. Hester Chew, Vice Chairman of the Mc Happy Family Foundation, and Mr. Ronaphop Lueangpaiboon, Governor of Chai Nat province.

The target areas for this project are four districts in Chai Nat province: Wat Si Wichai School in Mueang district, Wat Wang Man School in Wat Sing district, Han Kha Kindergarten in Han Kha district, and Ban Wang Ko Hai School in Noen Kham district.

It is expected that the service will be able to cater to 150 children per day, totaling approximately 600 children over four days.

The mobile dental unit, part of the "Good Health under the Royal Patronage" project, has provided dental care services to over 22,000 people. The unit is equipped with air conditioning and various dental equipment. The color scheme is sure to please young patients, and the unit is maintained by a team of experts from the Mahidol University's Prince Mahidol Dental Hospital.

The venue and equipment were meticulously arranged, and the faculty of dentistry and all staff members demonstrated remarkable dexterity and organization, even in this off-site setting.

The primary services include fillings, scaling, extractions, fissure sealants, and fluoride applications.

Ronald McDonald from McDonaldland also joined the event to provide health and happiness knowledge, along with souvenirs for the children.

M.R. Jiyagorn Appakar Sesavej, Executive Director of the Thai Red Cross Children's Foundation, stated that "The Foundation operates under the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Patron of the Thai Red Cross Society and President of the Thai Red Cross Children's Foundation. Her Royal Highness is concerned about the health and hygiene of people in remote areas, especially children who should receive medical and health services, health monitoring, and daily health care. The survey found that most underprivileged children in rural areas have oral health problems. Therefore, the Foundation has established a mobile dental unit under the "Good Health under the Royal Umbrella" project for a period of 5 years."

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Hester Chew, Vice Chairman of the McHappy Family Foundation and President and CEO of McThai Co., Ltd., for giving me the opportunity to participate in this meaningful activity for the health and well-being of Thai youth.

Thank you very much.
